Good afternoon. My name is Terrence Murphy and I am a resident of Macon, Ga., born and raised. I am contacting you in reference to my recent experience in the limelight. I have been featured as 1 of only 16 contestants for a Bravo tv reality show that features aspiring singers named the "Kandi Factory" that airs on April 9, 2013 at 10 pm. I was the only person who is from Georgia. this would be great for a local feature if you would be interested.

The following is the actual Bravotv press release for the show. Contact me if you need any more information. Murph2k4l@aol.com (478)918-4223

“The Kandi Factory” follows former member of the platinum-selling music group Xscape and Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss as she helps 16 aspiring artists jumpstart their dreams of success in the music industry. Having written mega-hits like "No Scrubs," for TLC and “Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Bug A Boo" for Destiny's Child, Kandi is a music veteran with an incredible eye for talent. In each stand-alone episode, she will put everything on the line by offering two protégés with no industry experience an opportunity of a lifetime – to master the key elements that make a star and a chance to fulfill their dreams. Kandi recognizes something special in each of the contestants and through the process she hopes to discover the next rising star.

From rocky recording sessions to stumbling through choreography, the transformations that the contestants undergo are a must-see as the show takes viewers through the gut-wrenching process of their makeovers with Kandi and her team of experts – comprised of producer Don Vito, choreographer Victor Jackson and stylist Kwame Waters. Don Vito, a sought-after producer, has worked on multiple genres in the music industry including Kim Zolciak’s breakout single “Tardy for the Party.” Victor is a Georgia-born choreographer who has worked on performances for artists including Lil Wayne, En Vogue and Chante Moore. And, with a stellar track record as a professional wardrobe stylist, Kwame is a personal shopper for some of the industry’s chart toppers including Perri “Pebbles” Reid, Tiny and En Vogue. The winner of each episode who creates a lasting impression on Kandi and her team will score the ultimate career break – an original song based on their personal life and written by Kandi herself, plus, a music video produced by her accomplished team.
Tiny Addison is only 12 weeks old, but it’s clear that she is the center of life in this Georgia household. The tiny red-haired infant looks just like her mother, Melissa, but has the red hair of her grandmother.

For Melissa and her partner, Melanie, adjusting to life with a little one has been a joy.

“It’s been a little hectic and crazy,” Melissa says with a laugh, “but it’s been completely worth it. Just seeing how quickly she is growing and changing has been so awesome.”

It took a four-year journey through fertility treatment to reach this point. The pair had been together more than a decade when Melissa decided that she wanted to become a mother.

“It had always been in the back of my mind,” she says. “When I turned 30, I really started to think about it.”

Melanie gave her whole-hearted support. “There is no greater joy than having your own child,” says Melanie, who has a grown son. “I think everyone who wants to experience parenthood should have the opportunity to do so.”

The two set about finding a doctor who could help them achieve their dream. They found Dr. Edouard Servy at the Servy Massey Fertility Institute.

“Dr. Servy came highly recommended,” Melissa says. “He suggested a reputable sperm bank, and then we started looking for the right donor.”

The process, Melissa says, was a little bit like looking through a catalog. “They listed everything from hair color to the educational background of each donor.”

Most importantly, the sperm bank provided the detailed medical history of each donor, along with the medical history of his parents and grandparents.

The sperm bank also offered something called an “ID Option.” The donor could select whether or not the child could contact him when he or she turned 18. The donor that Melissa and Melanie chose selected “yes” to this option.

“This gives Addi the right when she turns 18 to find out who her father is,” Melanie says. “That was important to us.”

After the sperm donor was selected, Melissa had an IUI (intrauterine insemination), a process that involves placing sperm inside a woman's uterus to facilitate fertilization. Then she waited to see if she was pregnant.

Unfortunately, the IUI didn’t work. Disappointed, Melissa underwent a second IUI. Once again, she found out that she was not pregnant.

At this point, it was hard not to be discouraged. But Melissa was determined to keep trying.

Since IUI was not working, Dr. Servy suggested Melissa pursue IVF. In vitro fertilization (IVF) involves manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. When the IVF procedure is successful, the embryo is transferred to the uterus.

It is not a simple process, nor is it inexpensive, but IVF is very effective. Melissa decided to try it.

Fertility medications were prescribed to Melissa to control the timing of the egg ripening and to increase the chance of collecting multiple eggs during her cycle.

Finally, her eggs were retrieved, mixed with the donor sperm in the lab, and the resulting embryo transferred to Melissa’s womb. She waited with high hopes.

Sadly, those hopes were dashed. After the IVF attempt failed, Melissa returned to Dr. Servy, who did further examination. He found that Melissa had endometriosis. Relieved to have a diagnosis, Melissa had a procedure to remove it, and then took some time off to recover physically and emotionally.

“It was heartbreaking to see Melissa so disappointed,” Melanie recalls. “We had thought it would be so easy for her to get pregnant because she was so young, but it was more involved than that.”

But after some time away from the process, Melissa decided to give IVF one more try. She approached the process with a positive attitude.

This time, she got the news she had been longing to hear. After four long years of fertility treatment, Melissa was finally pregnant!

Little Addison eventually arrived, much anticipated and much loved.

“Yes, there were times when I thought about giving up,” Melissa says. “I got so many no’s before we got that one yes. But we just kept trying.”

She has some advice for those considering IVF or other fertility treatment. “Do your research and find the best doctor,” she says. “Dr. Servy and his staff became like family to us.”

Timing is also important. “Be careful not to start fertility treatment when you have other stressors at the same time,” she advises. “Going through fertility treatment is stressful enough.”

All those years of trying fade away, though, at the sight of little Addison. When Melissa holds her daughter in her arms, she knows it was all worthwhile.

More Families Using Donor Eggs

http://www.newscentralga.com/younews/162098885.html

Families can be built in many ways, and these days, more families are relying on donor eggs to have children.

According to the CDC, donor egg usage has nearly doubled in the United States since 2000, increasing 80.5 percent.

To meet demand, an entire new industry has emerged – egg banks. Donor Egg Bank USA is the nation's only frozen donor egg program to be developed through a collaboration of more than 100 reproductive specialists throughout the United States.

Donor Egg Bank USA was created to assist fertility patients in their dream of having a baby with the added convenience of a quicker, more affordable treatment process.

Using donor eggs allows women who cannot produce their own viable eggs the opportunity to carry and deliver a child.

During the process, donor eggs are retrieved from a donor, fertilized with a partner’s or donor's sperm, and then implanted into the womb of the waiting mother-to-be.

In the past, traditional egg donor methods required first synchronizing the donor's and recipient's menstrual cycles, and then retrieving eggs and transferring fertilized embryos. The necessity for synchronization results in significant time delays and uncertainties. In a traditional cycle, there is no guarantee the donor will pass the screening process as regulated by the Food and Drug Administration or have a successful cycle.

An innovative fast-freezing technology called vitrification has transformed fertility treatment capabilities, making the viability of frozen eggs nearly equal to that of fresh eggs. Today, eggs can be collected, frozen, and banked, making them immediately available to recipients who select them from a donor database. Using frozen eggs allows couples to pursue treatment immediately, without the uncertainties associated with traditional donor egg treatment and at a time convenient to their schedule.

A traditional fresh donor egg cycle can cost up to $38,000 and take up to 12 months to complete. A frozen egg cycle can be completed in one to two months for typically less than half the cost.

"Donor Egg Bank USA offers patients the same success rates as most traditional (fresh) donor egg programs, but the process is more affordable and much quicker," says Heidi Hayes, CEO of Donor Egg Bank USA. "We work with some of the most well-recognized physicians and centers in the fertility field to provide the highest possible success rates for

Using frozen eggs allows for a wider donor selection when compared to working with a traditional fresh egg donor. In addition, families who choose to use donor eggs through Donor Egg Bank USA receive the added financial security of a 100% Assured Refund Plan™, which offers a full refund if the couple does not deliver a baby.

McMichaels Pizza located in Monticello Ga just off the square is full of music memorabilia, local history pictures and a few autographs, but none like the one that will hang on the wall now. Thursday evening Mr.Brooks walked in and said he would like to place an order and proceeded to order 6 various pizzas, he then asked if he should pay then or when he came back to pick them up, my sister told him that it didn't matter, so he went ahead and paid for them, left a tip and asked her if she needed anything from the grocery store!? How crazy is that, Garth asking you if you need anything from the grocery store! Tracey just kind of laughed and replied " No, I don't think I need anything" Mr.Brooks then said again, "are you sure? I can bring you an ice cream or something? My sister laughed and said jokingly " well an ice cream sandwich would be good". Mr.Brooks left and was gone for about thirty minutes and returned, setting a box of ice cream sandwiches on the counter! Mr. Brooks then looked around at all of the memorabilia on the walls as he waited a few more minutes on his order to be ready. I (Melissa) then asked If he minded if we got a picture with him, Mr.Brooks laughed and replied "I look like crap" we just laughed and said "well we do to"!
