Health Fair Event Focuses on Basic Health

Forsyth, GA-The Forsyth United Methodist Church will be the site for a free community health fair Saturday, March 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The church is located at 68 West Johnson Street in Forsyth. The SMVA Trust and its partners are hoping for a good turnout to take advantage of the free health screenings, information on basic health, and free consultations by doctors. Event partners include the Monroe County Hospital, Amedisys Home Health Services, Monroe County Health Department, Monroe County Extension Services, SRIM Center, Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber, Heartland Hospice, and Forsyth United Methodist Church.
Free screenings will include: Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose. Body Mass Index, and Cholesterol. Please note that fasting 8 hours prior to screening is recommended. Doctors will be available for free consultation and a Health Awareness Seminar on “Basic Health” will be presented by Bantwal S. Baliga, M.D. and Ashwini Gore, M.D. Refreshments will be served.
