Little Jamoris Hurt

HOPE FOR JAMORIS

Jamoris Hurt is a 2 year old with recurring medical complications due to a lack of oxygen at birth. He has a condition called Cerebral Palsy along with several other health issues- lung disease, epilepsy, and low muscle tone. All his muscles are very weak which disables him to sit, stand, walk, crawl, feed himself, or simply enjoy the things that so many of us take for granted on a daily basis. Although he has survived several surgeries and hospital visits, he requires help with all of his daily living skills. He is currently receiving physical therapy, speech/feeding therapy, occupational therapy and aqua therapy.

Jamoris needs to participate in a camp, which will help with his mobile and daily living skills, as well as teach him skills that will help prepare him for more independence. His team of doctors and specialists feel that he will greatly benefit from this resourceful camp that is located in Canada. This camp will require Jamoris to spend over a month (5 weeks) in Canada and costs in excess of $20,000, which includes almost $10k in camp fees, along with airfare, rental transportation, lodging, and food expenses.

The families desperately need your help and are seeking donations, prayers, and the support of the community as they prepare Jamoris for this journey in May 2012. Please lend a helping hand in this great cause and donate to help Jamoris live a life as close to normal as possible. We have nine months to raise these funds and time is of the essence. Your generosity, no matter how big or small, or what form, is greatly appreciated.

Union Baptist Church is serving as a sponsor for “Hope for Jamoris.” All donations should be made payable to Union Baptist Church, annotated “Hope for Jamoris.” All donations received will be deposited in the special account established for Jamoris at BB&T. Donors will receive a letter of receipt from the church. Donations can be mailed to Union Baptist Church, P.O. Box 274, Milledgeville, GA 31059.

In times such as these it's easy to say that we aren't able to help but there are more ways than one...a prayer, words of encouragement, word of mouth, etc. can make a huge difference. Kindness is contagious, so let's pass it on!

Leo says ... on Sunday, Sep 25 at 4:07 AM

It's times like these that we need to pull together as a community and show our love and support to someone that needs our help in our own city. So I'm asking everyone from everywhere to help in every way that you can. I'm praying for you.
