First 5k/ 1mile Walk for Diabetes in Warner Robins, Georgia
1st Annual Juanita June Foundation Walk for Diabetes

The Juanita June Foundation will host the first walk for diabetes in Warner Robins, Georgia September 25, 2010 starting at 9am. The Juanita June Foundation in association with the American Diabetes Association is hosting a 5k/1 mile race-walk to help meet the needs of diabetics throughout the Middle Georgia area. The Foundation will serve as the missing link between health care providers and individuals that suffer from financial hardship. The Foundation will supply medical supplies in addition to awareness and prevention throughout the area.

Vendors will be on hand Saturday, September 25th to distribute FREE diabetic strips and information on how the community can get tested for diabetes for FREE. Additionally, health specific vendors will be available to offer information and products to aid in keeping the community healthy.

The race will begin at 9am at New Hope International located off of the Russell Parkway Extension (Exit 144) and proceed down Russell Parkway and finish back at New Hope International. Activities will be available for kids, and the community is welcome to come out and participate. There are currently over 200 participants.

The Juanita June Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit agency located in Warner Robins, Georgia designed to help fight diabetes by providing supplemental supplies and resources to individuals that are ineligible to get the medical attention they need due to insurance concerns and/or financial hardship. Additionally, the organization seeks to spread awareness and share preventive techniques on how to stay diabetes free.
