Three Tornadoes Confirmed in Monday's Severe Weather

The National Weather Service has confirmed 3 tornadoes touched down in central Georgia during a round of severe weather Monday.
The first twister touched down in Telfair county 6 miles south of Milan. It has been rated an EF-0 with winds reaching 65 mph. The tornado was on the ground for over a mile and twisted the tops off of numerous trees.
The second tornado touched down in Wheeler County about 5 miles east of Scotland. It has been rated an EF-1 with winds topping out at 100 mph. This tornado was short lived and only on the ground for about a 1/4 mile. It did cause some minor damage to one structure in the area. 50 trees were also reported to either have been downed or had their tops sheared off.
A third tornado touched down, also in Wheeler county, about 2 miles east of Alamo. Also rated an EF-1, winds reached 100 mph. Staying on the ground for about 2/3 of a mile, the tornado sheared the tops off of numerous trees. Some hardwood trees were also snapped at their trunks.
According to Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox, another round of strong storms is possible Thursday.
