Consumer Reports tested multiple brands and says price has nothing to do with performance.
With so many to choose from, it's hard to decide which sunscreen is the best one to protect you from harmful U-V rays.
Consumer Reports tested multiple brands and says price has nothing to do with performance.
An S-P-F 30 product usually protects you for 10 hours, but experts say be sure to re-apply after taking a dip. The F-D-A recommends applying sunscreen every 90 minutes to two hours.
Also be aware of spray sunscreens - especially with children. Consumer Reports is recommending you not use spray sunscreen on kids - unless there's no alternative. In that case you should spray it in your hands and rub it on the child's skin.
When it comes to babies, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends babies six months old and younger be kept out of the sun. Other infants should wear light weight clothing and a hat.
And experts recommend applying only a minimal amount of sunscreen with an S-P-F of 15 to small areas, like the baby's face.
