All of us here at WGXA want you to be prepared for severe weather and on Thursday, we launched a new partnership that will help us do just that!

WGXA has partnered with Midland Weather Radios and Walgreen's to provide you state of the art weather radios. The entire WGXA weather team, along with the volunteer staff from the Macon-Bibb County EMA spent Thursday at spent several hours at the Walgreen's on Zebulon road offering free programming to those that stopped by!

And while many rely on tornado sirens, our staff is working hard to stress the important of having a weather radio. Sirens are designed to be an outdoor alert system. As a result, you may not hear them if you are indoors. Having a weather radio will solve that problem.

WGXA and Midland Weather Radios will be offering this severe weather alert tool in all central Georgia Walgreen's pharmacies.

If you couldn't make it out Thursday, our weather team will have another programming session February 7th at the Walgreen's at Gray Highway and Shurling Drive beginning at 4:30 p.m.
