Tuesday marked the 19th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1993. The storm rocked the east coast, tracking from the Gulf of Mexico all the way to Maine.

Often dubbed the Superstorm of 93, it dumped several inches of snow in Macon and across central Georgia. The official snow total in Macon was 2.6 inches making it the 10th highest snow total in the city’s history, with records dating back to the late 1800’s.

At its height, the storm stretched from Canada towards Central America.

The storm was often compared to an out of season hurricane. In fact, the pressure of this storm was equivalent to a category three hurricane!

The storm also spawned severe weather including 11 confirmed tornadoes in Florida!
