The National Weather Service has confirmed a second tornado struck in Henry County as storms moved across Georgia on Tuesday.

The tornado, with winds reaching as high as 80 miles per hour, touched down 3½ miles southeast of Locust Grove along the Butts and Henry County line. The tornado touched down at approximately 4:12 p.m. and was 2½ miles long and 50 yards wide. Officials say at least four homes and one business received minor damage. More than 200 trees were blown down.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Gwinnett County police say 54-year-old Matthew Mitchell of Conyers died in an unincorporated area near Stone Mountain after a tree fell on the car he was driving just before 3:30 p.m. Monday. Police say a storm with strong winds was moving through the area at the time and likely caused the tree to fall.
