The National Weather Service has confirmed that a weak tornado touched down Monday night in south Bibb County.

After surveying the damage, the twister is being rated an EF-1 with winds topping out at 105 mph.
The worst of the damage is located along Sardis Church Road at Barcelona Blvd. and Andalusia Drive over to Liberty Church Road.
The initial touch down was about 10 miles southwest of downtown Macon at the intersection of Sardis Church Road and Goodall Mill Road. The twister traveled just over a mile. The width of the damage path is approximately 50 yards wide.
