A strong system sparked severe weather across central Georgia Monday. Two rounds of severe storms moved through the region, the first Monday morning and the second Monday afternoon.
Torrential rainfall was a big impact of Monday's storms. StormTrack Central's TITAN Radar estimates up to two inches of rain fell across parts of central Georgia, including Laurens county.
Numerous reports of hail from Monday's storms were received by StormTrack Central's team of meteorologists. Hail, up to golf ball size, was reported in Houston, Bleckley, Laurens and Johnson counties. Also in Laurens county, we have received reports of some downed trees and power lines.
Tornado warnings were issued for Houston, Twiggs, Laurens and Johnson counties. Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox tracked rotation on TITAN Radar, but so far, no tornadoes have been confirmed.
According to Jeff, another round of severe weather is possible Tuesday, including the threat for heavy rain, strong winds, frequent lightning and large hail.
