A Tornado Watch remains in effect through 8 p.m. for the following counties in central Georgia: Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Butts, Crawford, Crisp, Dooly, Greene, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Macon, Monroe, Peach, Pike, Pulaski, Putnam, Schley, Spalding, Sumter County, Taylor, Twiggs, Upson, Wilcox and Wilkinson. A Tornado Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. Stay tuned to WGXA for the latest information.
According to Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox, the timing for the threat appears to be best between 3 and 8 p.m. Wednesday. It appears that damaging winds will be a concern, in addition to the possibility of isolated tornadoes.
Following this system, much colder weather will arrive for Thursday and Friday, along with blustery conditions.
