Severe weather rolled through central Georgia Sunday night leading to damage and power outages across the region.
Severe weather rolled through central Georgia Sunday night leading to damage and power outages across the region.
The storms contained a lot of lightning as they stormed through the region. A lightning strike seems to be the culprit of a fire that spread through several units at the Northwood Apartment Complex on Thomaston Road in Bibb county.
Trees have been reported down in Bibb, Jasper, Jones and Taylor counties. In Jones county, trees are reported down county wide. In Taylor county, at least 2 homes received damage as a result of falling limbs and trees.
In Monroe county, a wind gust of 60 mph was recorded in High Falls State Park.
As of Monday afternoon, Flint Energies is reporting less than 100 outages in Houston county, down from nearly 400 at the height of the storms. Georgia Power is reporting that all customers have been restored.
According to our team of meteorologists in StormTrack Central, storms are once again possible Monday afternoon.
