Numerous reports of hail were received from Bibb, Houston and Peach counties. Frequent lightning was also a large part of the stormy weather.

In Macon, winds estimated at over 60 mph are blamed for downing several trees, including two on two different homes. Emergency officials responded to a home on Second Avenue and to a home on Saint Charles Place in reference to trees falling on homes. When NewsCentral arrived on the scene, the cleanup had already begun.

Storms also knocked out power to hundreds. At the height of the storms, Flint Energies reported nearly 1,300 customers without power in north Houston County.

According to Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox, another round of showers and storms are likely Thursday afternoon, some of which could be strong to severe.
