ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The massive snowstorm hitting the middle of the U.S. is also dealing another blow to the Northeast.
The weather map shows the system as a wide diagonal swath stretching from New Mexico to the Northeast, parts of which already are on track for record snowfall this winter.
Upstate New York has more than a half foot of snow. And the National Weather Service says 1 to 2 feet of snow is predicted across the region by the time the storm ends on Thursday, with the heaviest snowfall expected to come tomorrow.
A winter storm warning is in effect for New York City, with forecasters predicting a mix of snow, sleet and ice.
Connecticut is bracing for more than 20 inches of snow.
In Pennsylvania, a wintry mix is covering the state. Forecasters say up to a half-foot is possible in the Pocono Mountains by tonight.
