Macon-Bibb EMA will conduct special siren tests from now until April 30, 2012, (only if weather permits) to comply to new Federal Communication Commission (FCC) narrowbanding requirements.

Narrowbanding is required for all of Macon-Bibb sirens. Narrowbanding is where the FCC has reduced the radio frequencies that we can use.

This change in frequency requires all of our sirens to be put on different frequencies, and testing of the sirens which will ensure that in the event of a real emergency all sirens will perform.

These siren tests will be very short.

If you have any questions please contact Macon-Bibb EMA at 751-7214.
