For some passengers who had trouble flying in to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport because of the winter weather, getting there was just the start of the problem.
At least three flights spent hours on the tarmac waiting to disembark there.
Travelers on one Cathay Pacific flight said they sat for 10 hours before leaving the plane Tuesday morning. A second Cathay Pacific flight sat for about eight hours before passengers got off the plane. A British Airways flight spent more than seven hours overnight on the JFK tarmac.
Both airlines attributed the delays to a lack of available gates where the planes could dock.
