5.4 million Americans are now living with Alzheimer's disease. Thousands of them are right here in central Georgia.
For the second year, The Claxton Road Race was run Saturday morning, billed as a race to end Alzheimer’s!
Hundreds of runners took to the streets in Bonaire, participating in a 5K run and 10.5K run.
The winning time for the 5K was right around 18 minutes. The winning time for the 10.5K was just over 38 minutes. Our own Jeff Cox completed the 5K in honor of his wife’s great-grandmother who passed away from the disease and in honor of his own grandmothers who are currently battling Alzheimer’s.
As a reminder, NewsCentral is proud to sponsor ‘The Dancing Stars of Central Georgia’, with all proceeds benefiting The Alzheimer's Association. For more information on the event, visit the news links tab on our website.
