Central City Clean Up Continues After Wicked Weather

Some Central Georgians spent Wednesday cleaning up following a round of wicked weather Tuesday afternoon.

Some Central Georgians spent Wednesday cleaning up following a round of wicked weather Tuesday afternoon.

Warnings were issued Tuesday as a severe storm delivered torrential rain, large hail, and damaging winds to Macon and Bibb County.

Especially hit hard was Macon’s Central City Park, where large trees were downed and some structures damaged.

Randell Hunt/City Forester, Horticulturist: “This was a pretty massive cleanup, 17 limbs down and15 big limbs down in thirty minutes.”

Some downtown streets were left flooded following the rains. Large hail was also reported in Hancock County as well.
