Burn Ban Still in Effect for Central Georgia

NewsCentral Staff

The Georgia Forestry Commission is asking everyone to remember that during the summer months, a burn ban remains in place for all counties in central Georgia.

Thanks to recent rain, they have received an increased number of requests for burn permits from people believing the ban has been lifted. In central Georgia, the ban is actually in place May 1st through September 30th, regardless of weather conditions. All central Georgia counties are a part of the ban.

The annual ban is to support improved air quality for the region during the summer months.
