An area of low pressure riding along a stationary front brought widespread rains to middle Georgia on Monday, October 12, 2009. Areas south and east of Macon saw severe weather with a few tornado warnings issued, although, as of Monday night, no tornadoes have been confirmed.
Celeste Smith, our assignment editor at FOX 24, was on her way back to middle Georgia after vacationing in Florida and caught this shelf cloud along Highway 300, just before the merge with I-75. Generally speaking, a shelf cloud appears on the leading edge of a storm.

If you see severe weather happening, stay safe, but consider sending us your pictures and video. E-mail them to 'jeffcox@fox24.com'.
