4 Georgia family members killed by tornado are buried

RINGGOLD, Ga. (AP) - Mourners gathered to pay their final respects to a family of four killed when a tornado struck the northwest Georgia town of Ringgold and the surrounding area.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that a Tuesday funeral service for the four members of the Black family was held just over the ridge from where a tornado claimed their lives.

Rain fell during the graveside service as 16-year-old Chelsea Black, 21-year-old Cody Black, 46-year-old Pamela Black and 47-year-old Christopher Black were buried.

The tornado slammed into their one-story home on Cherokee Valley Road.

A total of eight people died in the area around Ringgold, which is between Dalton and Chattanooga, Tenn.
