2012 will go down as the 6th warmest year in Macon history, 2.3 degrees above average. Macon topped the 90 degree mark 85 times, which is 4 above the long-term average of 81 days per year. The highest temperature recorded for the year was 108 degrees, twice, on June 30th and July 1st. That extreme heat tied for Macon's all-time hottest temperature and was the first time that we've recorded 108 degrees on back-to-back days. The lowest temperature recorded for the year was 18 degrees, twice, on January 4th and February 13th.
