The Washington County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out how contraband items, including drugs, are being brought into the Washington County Jail.
The investigation began Thursday when jailers found a female inmate with marijuana and a cell phone. Rules prohibit inmates from having cell phones in the jail.
Jessica Napier, 36, from Tennille, Ga., was arrested and charged with possession of prohibited items, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trading with inmates, and crossing guardlines with drugs.
The inmate who was in possession of the items was transferred to another county jail.
