CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities in West Virginia says four people, including two innocent bystanders are dead and a man is in custody after a shooting that apparently followed a drug deal gone bad in Clarksburg. Authorities say 27-year-old Sidney A. Muller faces four counts of first-degree murder.
HIALEAH, Fla. (AP) — Police say talks simply broke down with a man barricaded with hostages in a Florida apartment building and the result was seven dead including the suspect, who was shot by a SWAT team. Three women and two men were found at two different apartments in Hialeah, just a few miles north of Miami. Another man who was walking his children into an apartment across the street also was killed.
FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) — A military judge says she'll give advance notice before announcing her verdict in the WikiLeaks case involving Army Pfc. Bradley Manning. He's accused of aiding the enemy by engineering a high-volume leak of U.S. secrets to WikiLeaks.
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Saudi Arabia says one more man has died from a new respiratory virus related to SARS, bringing to 39 the number of deadly cases in the kingdom at the center of the growing outbreak. The Saudi Health Ministry said the man died today. Another man has tested positive. The new virus is related to SARS, which killed some 800 people in 2003.
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A suicide bomber in a lawless part of eastern Afghanistan has killed seven people. Police say the target, a village police commander, is among the dead. Three of the commander's men and two civilians also died.
