Tests conducted on the city of Cochran water system found no contamination of the system after severe flooding on Tuesday.
A statement from the city said Advance Water Technology, a state-certified Georgia EPA laboratory, conducted the tests and reported to the city Thursday that the system had not been contaminated.
Four samples were drawn from different points within the water system representing the city's four above-ground wells. All came back negative.
The Cochran public works department confirmed there is no drinking water contamination and that the city's water continues to be safe to consume.
