Slow moving storms prompted flash flood warnings and left behind rapidly rising water in three central Georgia counties on Monday.
Flash Flood Warnings were issued for Bleckley, Telfair and Upson counties where several inches of rain fell in a short amount of time.
Viewers submitted several shots of flooded roadways in Cochran and in McRae. The Upson County EMA also reported flash flooding in Flash Flood Lincoln Park, a neighborhood just south Thomaston, where MLK Drive and Walton Street were closed due to flooding. EMA officials tell WGXA the "neighborhood is divided in half."
Officials in Telfair County have closed schools for Tuesday due to poor road conditions.
WGXA's Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox says another 1 to 2 inches of rain is likely for the entire area through Wednesday.
