The Code Red lockdown issued for Russell Elementary School in Warner Robins has been lifted.
The Russell Elementary School Code Red has been lifted and children are being allowed into the building. Houston County School System Director of Community and School Affairs, Beth McLaughlin tells WGXA, a Code Red lockdown was issued at Russell Elementary school early Friday morning after a suspicious person entered the school. Law enforcement responded to the scene and the person ran away.
McLaughlin says officials took precautionary measures and searched the school. A tweet from the Warner Robins Police Department says the suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years of age, 5'10" in height, wearing black pants and a green jacket.
A recorded message about the incident was sent to parents of Russell Elementary students. Russell Elementary School is located at 101 Patriot Way in Warner Robins.
