Legendary soul singer Percy Sledge will perform this Sunday, Oct. 13, at Washington Park as part of this month's Second Sunday Concert Series.
The concert is sponsored by the College Hill Corridor and Bragg Jam.
"Bragg Jam and the College Hill Corridor share a common desire to keep Macon 'college town cool' in order to continue to attract and retain the creative class," said Bragg Jam president Jamie Weatherford. "We are honored to be associated with a concert series that has been so successful in this endeavor."
Sledge will perform with his Macon-based band The Bluesmasters with classics like "Warm and Tender Love," "Take Time to Know Her," and "When a Man Loves a Woman."
The show is slated to start at 6 p.m. but organizers are encouraging people to get to the park early to secure a good picnic spot. Lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and leashed pets are welcome. No grills or tents are allowed.
