A Monroe County Sheriff's deputy was released from the hospital Sunday after being treated for injuries sustained when his patrol car was hit by another driver on I-75 near Forsyth.
Deputy Timothy Campfield was assisting the Forsyth Police Department with an accident near mile marker 185 southbound on I-75 when he and his patrol car were struck by another vehicle as he was directing traffic.
Campfield was treated at the Medical Center of Central Georgia for non life-threatening injuries and then released.
The Macon Telegraph reported Monday that the driver of the vehicle that struck the deputy was Sandra Mobley, a longtime delivery worker for the newspaper.
Mobley was taken to Coliseum Hospital for treatment, and the Telegraph reported she had been "seriopusly injured."
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
