An unusually wet summer is being blamed for a mold problem in some Wilcox County classrooms. As a result, Superintendent Steve J. Smith has decided to delay the start of school for Pre-K to 5th grade students until Tuesday, August 13th.
Mold testing results received Wednesday show further treatment for mold is needed in one wing of Wilcox County Elementary School. The problem is likely coming from the HVAC systems on the Pre-K/Kindergarten wing.
Wilcox County students that are in grades 6-12 will report as previously scheduled on Thursday, August 1st.
