JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Jury selection in the trial of Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill is expected to resume Tuesday after Hill's supporters protested at the county courthouse.
Local media outlets reported that a group of protesters showed up at the courthouse in Jonesboro on Monday to support Hill, who was elected last year despite a felony corruption indictment.
Hill is accused of pocketing money from his failed re-election campaign in 2008 and using county resources for personal purposes. Defense attorneys have said the accusations are attacks by political rivals.
Attorneys are trying to whittle down a pool of 150 potential jurors to a panel of 12.
