ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say much of central and south Georgia will once again be under a flash flood watch as more heavy rains are expected. The watch includes the cities of Americus, Dublin, Macon, Milledgeville and Vidalia. It is scheduled to be in effect from noon through tonight.
DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — A woman whose former boss was convicted of fatally shooting her husband outside a suburban Atlanta preschool in 2010 is set to be sentenced this morning after she was convicted of lying to authorities. Jurors found Andrea Sneiderman guilty yesterday of nine counts, including making false statements and perjury.
MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Jury selection resumes today in Cobb County in the trial of a teenager charged with fatally shooting a 13-month-old baby in the face during an attempted street robbery. A judge moved the trial of 18-year-old De'Marquise (deh mahr-KEESE') Elkins to the suburbs north of Atlanta, more than 325 miles from the port city of Brunswick where young Antonio Santiago was slain.
FAIRBURN, Ga. (AP) — State authorities in Georgia are investigating the death of a high school player who suffered a spinal cord injury during a preseason football game near Atlanta. Medical examiner's officials said 16-year-old De'Antre Turman fractured a vertebrae in his upper spinal cord during a scrimmage Friday night.
