Tameka Foster Raymond requested the hearing earlier this week after their 5-year-old son got caught in a pool drain while in the care of the Grammy winner's aunt.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A New York man pleaded guilty in federal court to trying to extort $200,000 from Paula Deen by threatening to reveal damaging information if she didn't pay him. Thomas George Paculis (PAK-yew-lus) told a U.S. District Court judge in Savannah yesterday that he wanted to make a deal with Deen's lawyer to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — Investigators say a Georgia woman didn't disclose details about interactions with her boss until after he was charged with killing her husband. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Dunwoody Deputy Police Chief David Sides testified yesterday that Andrea Sneiderman didn't say Hemy Neuman asked her to marry him. Her husband was killed outside a preschool and Neuman was later convicted in the killing.
ATLANTA (AP) —Amazon.com will begin collecting sales tax in Georgia on Sept. 1. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday that a company spokesman confirmed the move, which was hailed by the Georgia Retail Association.
