ATLANTA (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a western Georgia man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for conspiracy to commit arson. Investigators say 44-year-old Hitendrafumar Patel was recorded asking an undercover Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent to burn down his business in June of 2012.
WINDER, Ga. (AP) — Winder police say burglars drove a truck through a pawn shop window and stole more than 20 guns. Investigators say the burglary happened about 3:15 yesterday7 morning. A surveillance camera recorded one suspect walk up to the store's window and look inside shortly before a white Dodge Ram crashed into it.
BENTON, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say an Atlanta woman is one of two people who died over the weekend while rafting on the Ocoee River in separate incidents. The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that the woman was thrown overboard in rapids while rafting with two friends Saturday. Her identity was not released.
