When planning your weekend, plan for delays if you'll be driving on I-75 through the Arkwright Road area.
The George Department of Transportation says traffic will be reduced to a single lane through the construction area on both northbound and southbound lanes near Exit 169, which is Arkwright Road.
The closures will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, and continue until 5 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24.
The contractor will be working in the median at that location, and the work is dependent upon the weather.
GDOT warns that this area is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary.
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message boards, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming traffic changes.
Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
