Nayef Mohammed Al-Shroof, 18, of Warner Robins, has been charged with three counts in connection to the July 11, traffic accident in south Bibb County that injured a Macon-Bibb firefighter.
Al-Shroof, a student at Mercer University, turned himself over to deputies, just before noon Monday on charges of serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, and violation of the Georgia move over law..
In court, Al-Shroof's bond was set at $10,200. When he does post bond, he was ordered to wear a GPS device and only to leave his house to attend classes or religious services. He can't drive at all and was ordered to have no contact with the victim or his family.
On July 11, deputies and firefighters were clearing up a previous accident in the northbound left lane of interstate 75 near Sardis Church Road, when a Toyota Camry driven by Al-Shroof hit a firefighter.
Sgt. Eric John is still listed in critical, but stable condition.
