Friends, family, and neighbors of a hit and run victim held a ceremony to remember the Jones County man Saturday night.
A handful of people walked Wheeler Road where 28-year-old Marquis Lawson was hit by a car and killed the night of July 24th.
Authorities have yet to charge anyone with the crime.
A candlelight vigil was held and a memorial placed where Lawson's body was found.
Lawson's sister, Victoria Greene, says she wants people to remember her brother, and she hopes the get-together helps her family find closure.
"He was a great person, and we just want everyone to know that and remember him, because we don't want to be sad anymore, we want to be smiling because that's exactly what he would want for us to do," Greene said.
Authorities believe Lawson was hit by a white SUV on Wheeler Road around 10:30 p.m. July 24th.
