Two more suspects were arrested late Thursday night, joining three others in the Bibb County Jail on charges related to the shootings at the Zodiac Lounge in the early morning hours of July 5.
The shootings results in the death of 17-year-old Jamonni Bland and the wounding of three other men, including one of the jailed suspects.
Those arrested late Thursday are Thomas Freeman, 27, who had six prior arrests in Bibb County, and Jarrett Taylor, 27, who had five previous arrests. Both men are charged with participation in criminal street gang activity, probation violations and attempted murder.
Police Major Charles Stone said Thursday that evidence collected at the scene and interviews with witness indicated a fight broke out inside the club about 3:30 a.m.
Arrest warrants say the group of men and women all took part in the beating of victim Deion Davis. The beating ended with suspect James Hollingshed shooting Davis eight times, according to the warrant. Police say the people involved in the beating and shootings are all affiliated with a street gang that calls itself "mafia."
The fight was broken up by bouncers who threw people out of the club. Some men re-entered the club and began shooting. The shooting spilled out into a parking deck adjacent to the club.
Bland was killed on the parking deck. Three other men, Deion Davis, Andre Bonner and Steven Billue were shot and are receiving treatment at local hospitals. Bonner was identified by police Thursday as the man who shot Bland five times with a handgun.
Three of the suspects were in custody by Thursday evening: Bonner, 30, Miranda Victoria Pettiway, 27, of Macon, who was arrested in Houston County, and Kiyo Latrice Johnson, 30, who turned herself in to authorities Thursday afternoon.
Bonner was charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, and participation in criminal street gang activity. This is Bonner's 32nd arrest in Bibb County since March of 2000.
Pettiway was charged with participation in a criminal street gang activity, criminal attempt to commit murder and felony murder. This is Pettiway's ninth arrest in Bibb County.
Johnson was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, participation in a criminal street gang activity, and misdemeanor theft by deception. This was her 14th arrest in Bibb County.
The arrest warrant states that Pettiway served as the getaway driver for Bonner, who police say shot Bland five times at close range with a handgun, killing him. The warrant also states Pettiway was the driver for the man who shot Deion Davis eight times.
The warrant says Pettiway and the two men are affiliated with a street gang called "Mafia."
The MPD is trying to locate three more suspects. They are:
Johnifer Dennard Barnwell, 27, with 10 previous arrests
John Michael Holingshed, 27, with five previous arrests
Jimmy Lee Scott, III, 29, with 21 previous arrests
