Two men suspected of involvement in the Zodiac Lounge shootings were arrested, along with a man charged with hiding one of the shooters.
The shootings inside and outside of the Zodiac Lounge on Walnut Street in downtown Macon resulted in the death of 17-year-old Jamonni Bland and the wounding of another man. Police say the shootings stemmed from a gang fight that broke out inside the bar at about 3:30 am.
John Michael Hollingshed Jr. was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, felony murder and participation in criminal street gang activity.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshal's Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Macon Police arrested 27-year-old Johnifer Dernard Barnwell in an East Macon house and charged him with participation in criminal street gang activity and attempted murder.
Also arrested on Wednesday was Terico Jaques Balkcom, 34, of Macon, charged with misdemeanor obstruction and felony hindering apprehension for harboring Barnwell in his house.
Hollingshed was arrested by task force memebers on Tuesday at a motel in Columbus.
The warrant for his arrest claims Hollingshed shot 21-year-old Deion Davis eight times inside the club and then passed the gun to a fellow gang member who shot Bland five times.
On Wednesday, Jarrett Durand Taylor, 27, was released from Bibb LEC after Macon Police dismissed all charges against him. A spokeswoman said police didn't believe the charges against him would hold.
Balkcom was released on a bond of $4,250. Hollingshed and Barnwell remain in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Of the seven people now charged in the crimes, only one is not in custody. Jimmy Scott III, 29, is still being sought.
Police ask anyone with information about Scott or the shooting to call them at 478-751-7500, or contact the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 877-68-CRIME. Police noted information from the Crimestoppers hotline aided in the arrests this week.
