Fort Valley Police are investigating a shooting Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of Old English Apartments, on the 900 block of Orange Street.
Officers responding to a call at first did not locate anyone who had been shot. A short time later, Peach County Hospital called police to report a man, later identified as Raymond Cox, 25, of Cordele, came in with gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
Friends had apparently dropped off Cox at the hospital. He was transported to the Macon Med Center shortly thereafter by ambulance and is listed in serious condition.
Warner Robins Police contacted Fort Valley Police about Octavious Trice, 24, of Fort Valley, who was in the Houston County Medical Center with gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
Trice was uncooperative and even refused to give his name. Police investigators determined the two shootings were related and had occurred in Fort Valley.
Trice was transported to the Macon Med Center by ambulance and is listed in serious condition.
”This investigation is ongoing and charges have yet to be determined," said Public Safety Director Lawrence Z. Spurgeon. "Despite the fact that both parties were less than forthcoming with information our investigators were able to identify possible witnesses and are trying to establish a time line of events and a possible motive.”
