The Little League Southeastern Region Softball tournament begins Thursday in Warner Robins. Georgia is being represented by Bibb County's own Western Little League.

Our girls were in Warner Robins Wednesday as the International City prepares for another great week of ball.

The fields have been lined. The gift shop is open. The night before the start of region play everybody has a job, including the players.

"Pictures. Pictures, pictures, and more pictures, and more pictures. It's crazy," says Kassidy Hulett, a member of Western Little League.

Teams from around the Southeast have converged on Warner Robins, providing an economic boost and some very good public relations.

"We want to impress to these people that it's just a great place to be, and live, and play ball," says Ann Barnes, a gift shop volunteer.

"This is the best tournament you can go to. Everybody's class act. Everybody does put on a good show. The competition is supposed to be stout this year, from what I hear," says Jason Sinquefield, Alabama Manager.

Indeed, there are no easy games in region play but it's the crowds that concern Georgia Manager Mike Phillips.

"Main thing I'm worried about is just nerves. They're expecting about 6,000 folks to be out here Thursday. That's the main thing I'm worried about, just those nerves the first couple of innings," says Mike Phillips, Georgia Manager.

"I'm going to be nervous when we first get out," says Courtney Gay, a member of Western Little League.

"I think in the first inning we're going to be nervous but we'll get used to it," says Holly Phillips, a member of Western Little League.

"We just have to give it 110%," says Courtney Gay, a member of Western Little League.

Our Western Little League All-Stars will give their 110% out on the field and they hope that hometown fans will give the same up in the grandstands.

"I told the girls, "There's 6,000 folks out there, 90% of them are going to be rooting for us." So keep that in the back of their heads. I think after the first couple of innings they'll be alright," says Mike Phillips, Georgia Manager.

Our Bibb County girls play their first Southeastern Region tournament game Friday night at 7pm. Georgia will face North Carolina.
