SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Savannah have identified a woman shot to death in her car as a 21-year-old Savannah State University student.

Savannah-Chatham police said Rebecca Lorraine Foley was gunned down outside her apartment on the city's south side around 7 p.m. Monday.

Police spokesman Julian Miller tells the Savannah Morning News (http://bit.ly/1454Gqi) that Foley was inside her Volkswagen Beetle when she was killed. He said officers found her on the ground outside the vehicle, but were uncertain how she got there.

Miller said detectives were working to identify anyone who might have been in the area. Police are also seeking leads from the public.

Mitchell Bush, her employer for nearly two years at the Bush Insurance Agency, said Foley had moved to Savannah from Summerville in northwest Georgia to attend college.
