SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say they have charged a man in the slaying of a woman whose body was found in a burning car last month.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police said in a press release Monday that 36-year-old Shan Demetrius Cheley has been charged with murder in the death of Amber DeLoach. DeLoach was 18 when she was found dead Sept. 30
It was not immediately clear if Cheley had retained an attorney.
Investigators say Cheley and DeLoach met the night before her body was found in the burning car.
Cheley has been in the Chatham County jail since Oct. 4 on cocaine possession and contempt of court charges.
