Man acquitted in fight over stinky feet

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - An Augusta man jailed after police said an argument over stinky feet left his roommate with a minor wound has been acquitted.
Authorities said an argument over stinky feet touched off the fight, and prosecutors charged 62-year-old Crawford Jackson with aggravated assault.
The Augusta Chronicle reports that Judge J. David Roper issued the verdict Wednesday, clearing Jackson of the charges.
Jackson's former roommate, Darryl Harris, testified during the Richmond County Superior Court trial that Jackson poked him in the stomach several times with the blunt end of a pocket knife, breaking the skin, and that Jackson cut his hand.
However, the judge found that the knife was not used as a deadly weapon by Jackson against Harris during the June 11 altercation.
