Ga. school principal killed in car accident

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Bryan County say the principal of an elementary school in nearby Liberty County has been killed in a car accident.

WTOC-TV (http://bit.ly/12lginj ) reports 62-year-old Mary M. Guiendon died Wednesday after an accident on a highway near Richmond Hill around 6:30 a.m. She was the principal at Button Gwinnett Elementary School in Hinesville.

Georgia State Patrol officials say a school bus stopped for children and Guiendon rear-ended a semi-truck that was stopped behind the bus. She was pronounced dead at the scene and police say she was not wearing a seatbelt.

There were no other reported injuries and Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.

Richmond Hill is about 20 miles south of Savannah.
