Dead body found at south Ga. high school

VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in south Georgia are investigating the circumstances surrounding a dead body that was discovered at a high school in Valdosta.

The Valdosta Daily Times (http://bit.ly/VQ8Ui6) reports the unidentified body was found Friday morning at Lowndes High School.

It was not immediately clear if the body was found inside the school or on school property, and a call to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office was not immediately returned.

Sheriff Chris Prine told the newspaper students at the school are not in any danger and the newspaper reports parents are being allowed on campus to remove their children from school for the day.

Additional information was not immediately available.
