Bats invade apartment building outside Atlanta

NewsCentral Staff

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - Residents of a metro Atlanta apartment complex say they're living in fear of bats that circle the sky and invade their units.

Video shown by WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/126IuLs) shows several bats flying around the rooftop of the apartment complex in Stone Mountain, just east of Atlanta.

Justin Fleetwood says he recorded cell phone video of a bat clinging to an air conditioning vent in the room where his 4-month-old daughter sleeps.

Another resident, Tavolsia Brooks, says he returned to his apartment after some time away, and the bats were flying around when he opened the door. Brooks said, "I'm thinking I'm in a movie."

The residents say that maintenance crews have taken some steps to remove the bats, but some of the critters remain in the building.
