Atlanta airport work turns in $7,000 in lost cash

NewsCentral Staff

ATLANTA (AP) - A part-time parking deck worker at Atlanta's airport says she never thought about keeping the envelope with $7,000 in cash she found on the curb outside the international terminal.

Pamela North Holloway says she turned it in right away, then watched as her supervisor counted the money and contacted Atlanta police to pick it up.

North Holloway says she could have kept the cash but didn't because she's an honest person who believes in doing the right thing.

A police report shows that the envelope contained 70 $100 bills.

Police tell WSB-TV that an Alabama podiatrist who was on his way to Costa Rica called police to see if anyone had turned in the money. Police say he was able to identify specific writing on the envelope and how the money was wrapped.
