Preschool Teacher Murdered; Suspect Arrested

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.(AP) - A homeless man has been charged with murdering a 40-year-old Lawrenceville preschool teacher.

Gwinnett County Police said that 51-year-old Ronald Smith was arrested Friday night and charged with murder. He allegedly shot 40-year-old Genai Coleman and stole her car near Gwinnett Place Mall in July 2008.

Coleman had been waiting to pick up her daughter, who was working at a nearby restaurant. The teacher had adopted three daughters.

Smith is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County jail.
